Ditching the Diet and Dealing With your Sh*t
I swear if I have to hear about “clean eating” one more time I’m going to scream.
I’m already screaming internally about so many things wrong with the way we approach health, fitness and well-being. We all want to feel better in our bodies and we also want things to work fast with very little effort. We know that isn’t how things really work and yet it’s so tempting to jump on the latest trend and we really truly believe that it’s going to solve all of our problems.
Restrictive diets and disordered eating are packaged up with shiny names that speak to our desire to fix our problems quickly without actually addressing the REAL problem. Now before you get mad at me for hating on your way of eating I’m going to preface this blog with the following,
If what you eat helps your body function and you enjoy what you eat, carry on.
If you are supporting a chronic health condition with a diet that you may not fully enjoy and it helps your body feel better, carry on.
Ok, that being said, I’m going to be delving into why you don’t need to be on a restrictive diet and how to really deal with the problems causing you pain.
